A senior petrochemical official says Iran's petrochemical production capacity will cross 61.5 million tons by the end of the current Iranian calendar year to March 20 2017
Ali Mohammad Bossaqzadeh, director of production control at
National Petrochemical Company (NPC), said the increase is comparable to the
country's production capacity in 2013 which stood at 55mt.
He said since the beginning of the current calendar year,
4.5 million tons has been added to the county's total production capacity by
inauguration of several major petrochemical projects including Mahabad,
Lorestan, Ilam and phase II of Kavian petrochemical projects in different parts
of the country.
He further said several other projects including Kurdistan,
Hegmataneh, Kaveh methanol and phase III of Pardis petrochemical projects will
also come on-stream by March 2017, adding 4.6mt/y to the total production
capacity.
