Swiss Company Welding Engineers Ltd. has inked the first petrochemical deal in Iran in the post-JCPOA setting with Sadaf Petrochemical Assaluyeh Company to construct the finishing area of the plant's emulsion styrene butadiene rubber (ESBR) unit.
The deal concerns construction, installation and startup of
the finishing area of the unit based on the latest technologies, said Ahmad
Jazayeri, managing director of the plant, shortly after singing the deal with
the Swiss firm on Saturday, June 11.
"Design, construction and startup of the unit is a
highly sensitive task and Sadaf Petrochemical Co. is seeking to build its ESBR
unit based on the latest international standards," said Jazayeri.
With the launch of this production line, 136,000 metric tons
of finished products in five categories will be manufactured a year, two of
which will be used in production of tires and the rest in the plastic industry.
Once operational, the unit's output will be exported to
international markets of the product besides feeding the domestic market for
the item.
Italy’s Versalis and Maire Tecnimont, one of the world's
leading ESBR producers, has confirmed the Swiss Welding Engineers Ltd for
design, construction and startup of the finishing area of the project, the
official added.
Based on the deal, the Swiss company has agreed to be
responsible for drying, wrapping and packaging process at the final stage of
production of the ESBR before selling it on the market, added Jazayeri.
Higher car security, eco-friendly features, and lower fuel
consumption are the key parameters cited in the advantages of ESBR production.
