Construction of Kaveh petrochemical mega project has reached 86% completion.
The plant is being developed for production of 7,000 tons a day of A-A grade methanol.
Being developed in the Persian Gulf city of Bandar Dayyer in the southern province of Bushehr, the plant is now in its final stages of construction.
Kaveh methanol project has the production capacity of two million tons annually.
The plant is expected to come on-stream before 2017.
A consortium of a number of Iranian banking headed by Bank Tejarat is financing the project. Bank Mellat and Bank of Industry and Mine are other bankrollers of the project.
Iran hopes to raise its methanol production capacity to 25 million tons per year in the next five years and establish itself as the biggest supplier of the product.
